Any alternative for an increase in height?
I’d like to know if there are any alternatives in order to grow taller. I know that height is mainly based on inheritance, but are there any types of food or exercises that can increase your height noticably. I’m 15 (almost 16) and currently standing at 5’8. I would like to grow at least an inch or two before september.

sorry to tell you, that anyone who tells you, including the answer above me, that there are any exercises to get taller is wrong. genetics is the only thing that is gonna get you tall, no pill, food, stretch, or exercise is going to make you taller. thats the harsh truth. im only 5’10, and i wish i could make it to 6′.
the good news is, that your only 15 and have plenty of time to grow. you will probably be fully developed around 20, so dont sweat it. although you may not grow as fast as you like, the potential for future growth is still there. and more good news, although you may not be able to do anything to get taller, there are certain factors that go into making ppl shorter:
-posture: i f*cked myself on this one. if you havent started already, start now. good posture is important in maximizing your height potential. i had myself checked out by a chiropractor a while back and he said that i screwed myself out of like 2 inches because of my poor posture earlier in life. so make sure your sitting up straight.
-eat your fruits and veggies (thats metaphoric for eat well). eating well will make sure your body has enough energy to grow. there’s a reason americans are so big and little starving african kids are so small: we get enough food, and they dont. malnourished people can be drastically shorter then a well-nourished person.
- dont lift heavy weights. the old wives tale is that weightlifting stunts your growth, but thats only half true. weightlifting in life is fine, but you gotta be careful about it. i think i might have screwed myself on this one too. until you are finished growing, you should not be maxing out, or lifting as much as you possibly can. keep your weight lifting to 6 or 8 reps minimum. too much push too early in life can damage the growth plates, and therefore, as they say, stunt your growth.
-dont drink caffeine. not to say obliterate it from your diet altogether, a pepsi now and then isnt going to make you look like gary coleman. im not even sure if caffeine really does stunt your growth, but i do know about 20 people that started drinking coffee very early in life, and they’re all under 5’3. so im just going on what ive experiecned.

Hello brother, 5’8 is tall enough. I m onli 5’1. I m already 20. Don’t you worry. You are still very young. You still have the chance to grow taller. I think that you don’t need to seek anyway to make yourself taller. Just let it be. You can’t rush yourself to become taller. In my opinion,to grow taller i think you play basketball can help you to become taller.
Drink 3 glasses of milk each day.
Eat lots of protein.
I had a friend and all his brothers were 6 foot plus, but he became a vegetarian at 15 and is only 5’10" now.
your not even 16 yet, I say you have 3+ more inches left in you man.
I was 6′.5 feet when I was 15
I was 6’1.5" at age 16
then at age 17 I was 6’2"+
now I’m 18 and a little over 6’3"
and I still think ill grow taller till like 21 an inch proly
