ZMA Dietary Supplement.?
Hey, my name is connor and I am 16. I have recently started bulking up and I bought the dietary supplement ZMA which helps you recover, I was just wondering what the side effects were and if it is safe for me to take. Also, I am not planning to but what if I took something that increased my testosterone, I am not talking about like steroids but something else an anabolic supplement. Idk all I want to know is how it would effect my teenaged body? Like would I grow taller or what?

ZMA is essentially a "vitamin pill" that contains zinc and magnesium. Zinc and magnesium are two minerals found in abundance in a balanced diet that aid the body’s immune system and neural function. Zinc in particular is an element used in synthesis of testosterone. The reasoning behind it is that hyperdoses of zinc and magnesium would improve the body’s ability to produce testosterone and therefore recover from exercise-related trauma.
However, there is no scientific evidence to conclude that supplementation of zinc and magnesium is helpful in this context. If this is the reason you’re taking it, then it is therefore not worth the money. Zinc and magnesium remain important nutrients for health in general though, magnesium particularly, which is commonly underconsumed in Western civilization. It will probably have little effect on your height but may improve your immune system slightly.
